Transfer, hold and park a call
Blind vs attended transfers, and how call parking lets anyone pick a call back up.
Last reviewed 20 August 2026
Attended transfer (announce the caller first)
- 1Press Transfer — the caller goes on hold.
- 2Dial the extension and wait for your colleague to answer.
- 3Tell them who's calling and why.
- 4Press Transfer again to connect them. If your colleague can't take it, press the line key or Cancel to return to the caller.
Blind transfer (send it straight through)
- 1Press Transfer, then choose Blind if your handset offers it.
- 2Dial the extension and press Transfer or Send.
- 3The call leaves your phone immediately — so only do this when you're sure someone will answer.
Parking
Parking puts a call into a shared slot so anyone in the office can retrieve it. Press the Park key, note the slot number announced, then anyone dials that slot to pick the call up. It's ideal for 'can someone in the warehouse grab this?'.
If a parked call isn't collected it will usually ring back to the phone that parked it. Ask us to adjust the timeout if that's too short or too long for how you work.
Still stuck?
Log it with the helpdesk and a real engineer will pick it up — or book a call if you'd rather talk it through.
