Connect to the office VPN
Get connected from home, and the three usual reasons a VPN refuses.
Last reviewed 20 August 2026
- 1Make sure your home internet is working — load any website first.
- 2Open the VPN client we installed on your machine.
- 3Sign in with your work username and password, and approve the MFA prompt on your phone if you get one.
- 4Wait for the status to show connected before opening files or line-of-business applications.
If it won't connect
- Wrong password — if you recently changed it on a machine that wasn't connected, the laptop may still be using the old one. Connect to the VPN and lock/unlock the screen to sync.
- Public or hotel Wi-Fi blocking VPN traffic — try tethering to your phone to test.
- MFA prompt not arriving — check your phone has signal and the authenticator app is open.
Only use the VPN client we supplied. Free VPN apps from an app store route your company traffic through someone else's server.
