Customer service software company, Zendesk, suffered a data breach and has warned that approximately 15,000 of its support and chat accounts were subjected to unauthorised access by a third party. The types of data accessed included email addresses, names and phone numbers.
The company has reported that only accounts created before November 1st 2016 were compromised and they have contacted the affected customers directly via email. They advise these customers to change their account passwords and upload a new TLS certificate if applicable. As this kind of breach can result in an increased risk of phishing attempts on the email accounts involved, users should be extra vigilant for such attacks.
