Password manager, LastPass, has reported a security vulnerability but say they have now deployed an automatic update to fix the issue.  The bug affected the browser extensions for Chrome and Opera and had the potential to be used to steal user credentials.  Although users do not need to take specific action as the problem has now been resolved,

LastPass reminds customers to adhere to general best practices online.  This includes vigilance against phishing attacks, enabling multi-factor authentication, never reusing or disclosing your master password for a password managing app, and maintaining up-to-date anti-malware software on your systems.  Enabling automatic updates for all your software is also advised so that security patches are installed as soon as they become available.
